Walk on Svinafellsjokull Glacier Tongue in Skaftafell National Park; Easy 2 hour Walk on Crampons.
This walk takes us on to the Svínafellsjökull glacier tongue with its breathtaking scenery and views of the Vatnajökull glacier. We walk through a wonderland of glacial ice sculptures, meandering through ice ridges and the deep crevasses of the glacier. One of our experienced guides teaches you how to use basic glacier equipment like crampons and ice axes, the required equipment for this tour.
Duration: 2,5 -3 hours in total, 1,5 - 2 hours on the ice
Departures: All year: Every day at 10:00, 10:30, 14:00 and 14:30. July 1st to August 31st: Departures every hour from 10:00 - 15:00
Minimum Age: 8 yrs.
Meeting point: Icelandic Mountain Guides Sales Lodge in Skaftafell (next to the National Park Visitor Center) 20 min prior to departure
Included: Guiding services, glacier gear and safety equipment.
You bring: Warm clothing, rain gear, hiking boots and lunch.
