Booking your Iceland trip with us is straightforward. Browse our vacation packages, pick your dates, choose your accommodation and car, add any extras you want, and pay just 5% to secure your spot. The whole process takes a few minutes online, and our team is available if you need any help along the way.
Everything you need to book a complete Iceland vacation is handled in our booking engine. Here is how it works.
1. Find your perfect tour
Start by browsing our Iceland vacation packages. Use the search filters to narrow down by trip type, duration, season, or travel style. All our packages are listed with full itinerary details so you know exactly what you're booking, whether you're looking for a self-drive road trip or a guided group tour, summer or winter.
2. Pick your dates and check prices
Select your preferred start date and the number of travelers in your group. Most of our self-drive tours are available on flexible departure dates year-round, so you're not locked into fixed schedules. The price will update automatically based on your selections.
If you'd like to add extra nights in Reykjavík at the start or end of your trip, you can do that here or note it in the special requests box.
3. Choose your accommodation
Select from Budget, Comfort, or Quality accommodation tiers. Each level is described in detail on our accommodation page so you know what to expect at every stop on your itinerary.
4. Choose your car (self-drive and camping tours)
Pick the rental car that suits your trip and travel group. Our car rental page covers vehicle types, insurance options, winter driving considerations, and everything else you need to make the right choice.
5. Add activities and extras
Browse optional activities available on each day of your itinerary, from glacier hikes and ice cave tours to spa entries and lava cave expeditions. You can customize your trip here without changing the core package.
6. Pay, confirm, and go
Enter your details and pay securely by credit card. We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, JCB, Discover, UnionPay, and Diners. All payments are charged in euros.
Here's the best part: you only pay a 5-20% deposit when you book, and the balance isn't due until 30 days before your trip. That means you can lock in your Iceland vacation today without paying the full amount upfront. If you're booking less than 30 days before departure, full payment is required at checkout.
Once we've reviewed your booking, you'll receive a confirmation email and be introduced to a dedicated Travel Consultant who will work on your trip. After that, go ahead and book your flights with the airline of your choice and get ready to explore Iceland.
FAQs
1. Are flights to Iceland included with your packages?
Flights are not included in our packages. We've found that booking flights directly with your preferred airline gives you the best prices and most flexibility on routing and timing. Once you have a rough idea of your travel dates, we recommend searching for flights first so you know your arrival and departure times before you book your tour.
2. When should I book my flights?
The earlier the better for availability! Once you’ve got confirmation from us, then go ahead and book your flights.
3. When should I book my tour package?
Book your flights after you receive confirmation from Iceland Tours, not before. That way your flight dates are locked in to match your confirmed tour dates. Most major airlines offer direct flights to Reykjavík from key US and European cities.
4. What happens after I’ve booked online?
you’ve made the booking on our website, you’ll receive a confirmation and invoice via email. Whilst many bookings are confirmed instantly, longer tours can take a few days to confirm.
You’ll receive all your travel documents – including your car rental details, accommodation confirmations, and itinerary – via email. Make sure to keep these documents safe and accessible for when you get to Iceland.
Keep in mind: Sometimes we might need to offer an alternative car or accommodation due to availability. If that happens, we’ll always provide a like-for-like option or a full refund - your choice.
5. What currency do you charge in?
We charge all payments in euros (€). Different currency? Check sites like http://www.xe.com/ for conversions (note: your bank’s rate may vary slightly)
6. When should I book my Iceland tour?
We recommend booking at least a few weeks before your travel date to secure your preferred accommodation, rental car, and activities. The latest we can accept bookings is 7 days before departure. If you're planning to travel in peak summer months (June to August) or around the Northern Lights season (September to March), booking further in advance gives you the best availability.
7. How much deposit do I need to pay?
Just 5% of the total trip cost is required to confirm your booking online. The remaining balance is charged 30 days before your departure date. If you book within 30 days of travel, the full amount is charged at the time of booking.
8. What happens after I book online?
You'll receive a confirmation and invoice by email. Most bookings are confirmed instantly, though longer or more complex tours can take a few days. All your travel documents, including your itinerary, accommodation confirmations, and car rental details, will be sent by email ahead of your departure. Keep these accessible when you arrive in Iceland.
9. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa and Mastercard. All payments are charged in euros. Our booking platform is secured by Flywire for safe international payments.
10. Can I change or cancel my booking after confirming?
Yes. Our Book with Confidence policy gives you up to a 95% cash refund plus 5% travel credit for most trips if you need to cancel or amend. The 5% is kept as a long-valid, transferable travel credit rather than being lost. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
11. Should I book my Iceland tour in advance?
Yes, particularly for travel during peak summer and Northern Lights seasons when accommodation and rental cars book up quickly. Booking in advance also lets you lock in your preferred start date, accommodation tier, and any optional activities before availability runs out.
