Djúpalónssandur

Djúpalónssandur is a pebbled beach located at the roots of Snæfellsjökull. Surrounding the beach are magnificent rock formations that jut out from the sea.
On the beach look for four lifting stones, weighing from 23 kilos up to 154 kilos, that were used by fishermen to test their strength. If you are of a mind to try, these are a perfect way to test your own strength — just try to pick up these heavy stones!
