Iceland was absolutely AWESOME, The most interesting Geographical sites I have ever witnessed. You cannot stop saying UNREAL. All The locals were very nice, and Hotels, and Bed & breakfasts were great. MAKE SURE YOU UPGRADE YOUR HOTEL ROOM IN REYKAVIK, UNLESS YOU ARE NOT claustrophobic. The Driving around Ring Road is a challenge in a lot of places, must keep eyes on road, and both hands on the wheel. The distance to travel between destinations is very challenging when you have sites you want to stop at and see. I highly recommend that you take at least 8 to 10 days, if not more, so you can relax on your journey. Cannot say enough about the Staff at HOTEL CABIN. They were great. Hertz was also good. Should take a 4 wheel drive. Thank you Iceland Tours, TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!!
We had a wonderful tour. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He took care of everyone, ensuring they had a good time and saw all the sights. We especially enjoyed the lava tube cave exploration.
This is to thank you for all the arrangements you provided for us for our trip. We had an amazing time and loved every part of the trip. The information provided by your organization was excellent, the hotels you booked us in were very good and we had absolutely no hassle during the trip.
We loved our vacation in Iceland and were extremely happy with the tour we booked with Iceland Tours. We selected the Best of South and West tour and chose the budget option. All of the guest houses were wonderful, some better than others, but each had its own great thing about it. The only issue we had was with the actual itinerary. While they list the attractions to stop at each day (all of which were great) with the coordinates (which were usually off, another thing we weren't thrilled about) and provide a map with a line of where you will be driving, we wish they would have provided a visual as to where each suggested stop was along the route. Then we would have been able to judge better if we wanted to stop at some of the suggestions or not. Again were happy with our tour and would suggest to friends! Thanks!
Our trip to Iceland with Iceland Tours was incredible. We were on a self-drive tour of 6 days and the freedom of having your own car meant that you could visit whatever you wanted for however long you wanted. The information on the itinerary was very comprehensive and so many stops were amazing places that you'd never know were there unless you'd been told so. We had a look at the Blue Lagoon on the first day but decided it was too expensive and touristy. We stopped at Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths instead which was much quieter, nicer and a fraction of the price. The lack of stress with booking hotels made the trip so much more enjoyable, as we booked it quite late. Given the chance, I would definitely come back and choose another tour to go on with Iceland Tours.
The itinerary and accommodations were wonderful. We truly enjoyed our trip. If I had a suggestion, I wish that our itinerary would have included information on where restaurants and gas stations were located in the more remote areas.
I want to start off by saying how professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful the staff of Iceland Tours is. They answered all my questions via e-mail with a reasonable, timely manner and definitely assisted with making this trip the most memorable it could possibly be. They provided all invoices and documents that were needed on this trip to help run as smooth as it could have. Offering the ability to put a down payment to secure the tour then being able to pay in increments was absolutely helpful and possibly the best thing a company could offer. Iceland Tours even helped keep you up-to-date with weather warnings that were occurring in major parts of the cities. All in all, I highly recommend Iceland Tours if you want to see the best Iceland can offer. Package: SD 11 Northern Lights & Jökulsárlón
1. I would upgrade to the Comfort Accommodation. I don't know what Budget Accommodation would offer as you wouldn't know your hotels until you made full payment but I would highly recommend taking the upgrade. All of our hotels were great, easy to get to and extremely hospitable.
2. Make sure to pick a car that has winter tires since this tour's duration is during their winter season. You'll hit different weather conditions driving from Vik to Jökulsárlón and up to Geysir that it's your best fit to be safe. We got the Skoda Octavia and it was amazing!!!
3. Laugarvatn Fontana is one excursion that you can book through Iceland Tours for when you're in Geysir - highly recommended - to me, was even better than Blue Lagoon. Great scenery, smaller and more intimate and the price is one to beat!
4. FlyBus - Iceland Tour helps you book transportation via FlyBus to your hotel in Reykjavik. Make sure to have this booked in advanced with IT and have a voucher ready when you arrive to the airport. The line was extremely busy of people trying to book a spot that same day.
5. Blue Lagoon is something I definitely think you need to experience while in Iceland but I wouldn't say it was the highlight of the trip. It was pretty foggy the day we went and very busy. We went for the Premium Package but if you want to bring your own towels and such, you can do so. If you aren't one for the hype of the Blue Lagoon, Iceland is known for their geothermal pools so definitely do some research to see ones in the city you're in.
6. Go for the self-guided tour. If you want adventure and to have no time limits, restrictions or running on a tours itinerary, go for the self-guided option. There are many signs and one main highway that will get you to point A to B easily.
7. If you can grab the coordinates of your location, use it on the GPS - this was definitely a lot more helpful at times versus the actual address of some places. Best part? The vouchers IT provides have the GPS coordinates!
Bottom line, this trip was definitely a memorable one. Iceland Tours helped ease the stress of planning a trip in a country I knew very little about and helped us to enjoy and embrace every moment throughout.
We took the 6D5N tour and would have appreciated getting more information about the itinerary before our payment. We were disappointed to realize (after payment) that day 1 was essentially nothing - just for us to arrive. And the last day was also nothing - just for us to depart. Further, the responses to our queries were prompt prior to our payment and then after full payment, responses were slow and the vouchers provided were incorrect. Revised vouchers were slow to come and also still wrong. Please, do improve on this. That said, it was a great and hassle free experience seeing all the glaciers and waterfalls etc. the tour guide and bus driver was helpful and informative. We enjoyed the tour.

We booked to come to Iceland for the first time on the Northern Lights Splendor trip. I cannot praise Iceland Tours enough, all staff was friendly and quick to respond and the booking process was simple and smooth! When we arrived, Reykjavik Excursions were aware of all our bookings and everything was very organized so we had no stress during the trip whatsoever. Prices were fantastic and I couldn't recommend Iceland Tours enough - thank you for allowing us to fall in love with this beautiful country- we can’t wait to return!

We thought a 14 day trip to Iceland would be a great adventure and we were right. We loved the country, the people, the scenery, the food... Iceland Tours was very helpful in the planning stages. Unlike our usual casual trips we planned over 6 months in advance. In the final stages we got payments settled and got complete tour vouchers and information. It would have been nice to get some more information sooner - like the nice Iceland map we got when we arrived but all planning had been done on our own map. The 4WD vehicle was excellent but the roads were very good except in the far northwestern fjords. Even there, a careful driver would have no problem. All of the arrangements worked out like clockwork. Vouchers were accepted without any difficulty. Hotels were very good traveler quality hotels and some fun surprises like a working farm and a horse ranch. The Blue Lagoon was a bit of a rip-off when you pay 35 euros for entrance and they ask another 15 euros each for a towel and 15 more than that for a bathrobe (which someone pinched off the outside racks anyway!) Bring your own towel! We were very satisfied with Iceland Tours and can recommend them without exception.
Classic Iceland - 10 days / 9 nights This was a great trip. The provided itinerary was helpful. All the hotels/guesthouses were clean and the staff was friendly. I honestly have nothing negative to say, everything was perfect.
Just got back home from 7 days around the island trip I booked with you.
Just want to share some feedback: all worked out great, all the bookings, hotels and the car - thank you for this!
Places we stayed were very simple, very nice and clean and people who run those were extremely friendly!
The trip itself as well as the recommended itinerary were quite well balanced, we did stop/visited some other places along the way but overall this tour gave us the very good overview about the island itself, the nature and the way people live there. We liked using GPS coordinates instead of typing addresses, very convenient - will be great, if you could do the same for the hotels.
One thing to improve (very minor, but want to mention it): when building itinerary, I understand you using some kind of template and then copy/paste exact info for the hotels booked - one of those was reversed, so we followed written direction but the actual hotel was the other direction - we found out quickly but just so you know to improve for the future.
Overall, will recommend you guys to anybody who would like to go and visit Iceland - great job, very professional - best to you and your business!
Please let me know if you have feedback form somewhere on the internet or social media, will be glad to post positive feedback there as well.
We had a wonderful time. The trip planning was excellent. The biggest shortcoming was the rental car. We were given a Toyota Yaris which we immediately upgraded to a vehicle that would survive the trip and was large enough for our number of passengers. Iceland Tours knew number of passengers and the road conditions. A Toyota Yaris should never be an option simply based on the route.
We did the 8 day - Ring road self-driving tour. Everything worked out just fine. All the bookings went through without a hitch. We never had to contact anyone from the service the entire time. We had a great time and the itinerary was well thought out.
Iceland Tours staff was great right from the booking stages. They were very helpful and provided us with weather updates and information on how this would affect our travel plan and itinerary. We spent 13 days travelling around Iceland and the majority of hotels and guesthouses were very nice. Some we a little more basic than we had expected for the 'comfort package', but all were clean and located well. Hertz were helpful, the car being new and clean and GPS was very useful (if a little unreliable at times!). Advice to fellow travelers.. If booking around winter/spring, opt for a 4x4. Unfortunately and disappointingly due to snow we were unable to get to Ísafjörður in our 5door hatchback but i would have chanced it if we have booked something bigger! And also, don't bother with the ferry to Patreksfjörður - just drive, the ferry doesn't leave until 3pm and we were already there long before that having driven.
We had a great time. One of the best trips we have made. Fabulous nature, sceneries, birds, mostly good roads when you consider the weather and climate. Almost every Icelander we met was very friendly, informative and took good care of us. A special tribute to the Hertz people in Reykjavík. They were very helpful when we had a minor accident the first day and had to change car. We went for the "Around Iceland in a week" because we did not have more time off from job an other duties at home. Being eager to see most of the places we were "on the road" for about eleven to twelve hours every day. But we had a good car and information from Iceland Tours were invaluable help to get the most out of the trip. The hotels had a reasonable good standard. Fosshotel Vatnajøkul had great rooms and nice surroundings but the meals were not up to standard. It was not possible to get anything to eat in the evening. The staff was not particularly friendly and the breakfast was poor. The sliced ham was grey an unappetizing, the orange juice had a high content of water and the coffee machine delivered luke warm water. Plates and knives and forks had stains and remains. Hotel Katla/Høfdabrekka was the best of the hotels we visited. Excellent food, rooms and a very friendly staff. Now we have seen a lot of Iceland and we certainly will come back to see more. Then we will concentrate on a smaller part and have more time to explore the places.
We have just returned from the Classic Iceland tour and loved every minute of it. The scenery in Iceland is simply stunning and this tour is ideal for seeing almost every noteworthy attraction in the shortest possible time. Iceland Tours made the booking process very easy, contact with the team after booking was also easy and they helped to make recommendations for our trip. Overall Iceland Tours were the cheapest quote we had but the quality and value of the holiday was second to none - all hotels were of a good standard and we had a very pleasant trip. Only slight issue was the confusing insurance "options" given by Hertz - SCDW, windscreen protection, theft protection and sandstorm damage were all separate policies and priced individually which are not included in the standard package from Iceland Tours. If you are travelling in May I would strongly recommend a 4x4 as the snow in the North and East of the Islands can be rather heavy! Overall a great trip and would highly recommend the service that Iceland Tours provide.
We did the 7 day around the Island. The itinerary is well organized. 3-4 hours of driving and 3-4 hours of sightseeing makes it well balanced on a daily basis. Hotels outside Reykjavik were excellent. CenterHotel Klopp was not up to the mark. Nearby construction, poor attitude from the reception staff.
Booked the self-drive "Northern Lights Classic Iceland - 8 days / 7 nights - SD12" tour about less than a week before the actual departure date but Iceland Tours still managed to deliver and helped me with the booking of all the accommodation and rental car. Opted for the "Comfort accommodation" and all the hotels/guesthouses booked by Iceland Tours were very comfortable with great breakfast! Highly recommended tour agency!
Our overall experience was entirely positive. We had everything we needed when we needed it. The Icelandic cell phone and all other supplies were made available just as promised. Great job! We have a couple of suggestions for the daily printed itinerary. First, it would be helpful if the distance (either in time or kilometers) to the highlighted attractions along the route were provided. For example we thought we were driving through the lava fields west of Kirkjubaejarklaster some two hours before we actually reached them. If we had known that they were X kilometers from the previous landmark, it would have been helpful. Secondly, we almost made the mistake of backtracking to Reykholt on day 4 to see Barnafoss and Hraunfossar. We did not know that there is ANOTHER REYKHOLT, which we found the next day with the help of our innkeeper in Borgarnes. On the last day, a bit more information about the exact location of the basalt curtains in Gerduberg would have been helpful. Still, we would say Iceland Tours provided everything they promised as advertised and on time. Excellent work!
Iceland Tours' daily itinerary provides excellent suggestions with the right amount of direction and flexibility. On our third day, for example, we had already made arrangements to photograph the ice caves at Jokullsarlon so we skipped the tour of Skaftafell National Park. Still, the daily suggestions were of great value to us. Very good job!
The accommodations were great, especially at hotel Laki and hotel Bogarnes. They really made you feel at home. Center hotel was good too, but the staff could have been a bit kinder. Hotel geysir unfortunately was awful. There was no hot water, no wifi even though they advertised Wi-Fi in all areas. The staff was nice for the most part so that was good, and the food was excellent! If they would just fix the wifi (or stop advertising that they have it) and get some hot water they would have been great. They are located right across from hot springs yet they can't get geothermal hot water? Why? Other than that my stay was great.
I absolutely loved my trip. Iceland was everything I expected it to be and more. I will be coming back for sure. I would love to see Iceland in the summer time. It was so beautiful in the winter, and now I want to see it when everything is green! The only suggestion I can make is to warn tourists of the harsh road conditions out by hotel geysir and gullfoss in the winter time. I was aware that some roads might be bad, but actually for the most part the roads were fine except in this area. I think my favorite part of the trip was the glacier climb at Skaftafell. Our guide was Anna, and she was hilarious and very kind. She seems like somebody I would be friends with because of her great sense of humor.
Thanks you so much for your help as we planned our Honeymoon trip in Iceland. Everywhere we stayed, the accommodations were very nice. The suggested itinerary was very helpful and gave a taste of everything we could have hoped for during our stay - a bit of luxury, adventure, nature, and relaxation. We did not run into any problems at all during our entire 2 week stay. We were both unbelievably satisfied with your company and all the arrangements!
Thank you for putting together a great itinerary for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Iceland. It’s a beautiful country with very friendly people and we feel very lucky to have experienced this. We wish to come back again to experience in the summer.
We spent 4 days in Reykjavik and it was a fantastic break. We stayed at Reykjavik Lights Hotel - it is a modern hotel, very comfortable and good access to city center via short bus ride. We enjoyed the Golden Circle, South Shore and Northern Lights tour.
You gave me exactly what I needed to know in deciding if this was a tour I wanted, based on how long I was to be in Iceland, the cost, and if I would be prepared for it. Of course, the tour description was enticing and accurate, but of equal importance is the information that enabled me to choose you.
My three friends and I just returned last Thursday from our tour of Iceland in which we used your agency. We wanted to contact you and express our pleasure with all the arrangements. The hotels, guesthouses and farm were all above our expectations and there wasn't a bad experience among them. Everywhere we went the food and hospitality were great. We kind of expected to have one mediocre experience but that was just not the case. We would highly recommend you to anyone and will be reviewing you on Trip Advisor.
Thank you for your wonderful service….Janette Korzec
My husband and I have just returned from an excellent trip to Iceland, organized by your company. Below is some specific feedback about the experience. Thanks for providing a terrific tour overall.
Airline: Excellent service - unfortunately our seats on the way to Iceland were in the middle of 100 students from the ages of 17-20. Although pleasant individuals, their airline travel decorum left a lot to be desired. Too bad we were the ONLY 'regular' passengers in the middle of this group. Hard to avoid. It was also unfortunate to have a six hour layover in Seattle on the way home. When the trip was originally booked, the layover was 2.5 hrs. I realize that airlines change their schedules but the 6 hrs was overwhelming waiting to get back to Vancouver after an overseas flight from Iceland.
Hotels: All of the accommodations were excellent. We were very impressed with each of the locations, the service and the cleanliness. The only frustration was having to move hotels in Reykjavik when we elected to stay an additional night. That information should have been stated before the decision was made to stay an extra night. Fortunately the hotels were close enough to one another to walk from one to another with luggage. It was a bit of a waste of time moving hotels.
Breakfasts: All of the breakfasts at each location were superb!
Transfers: Bus pick-up to return to Keflavik airport was perfect.
Car rental: Service provided by Hertz Iceland was superb.
1. Day 3 - More information should be provided in your notes about going to the Myvatn area. You should suggest going around the north side of the lake first to get to the Visitor's Centre so that you can plan your visit well, most 'stuff' is on the south side.
2. Day 4 - Road nr 862 is passing acceptable for a small rental car. Lonely Planet provides significant warnings about this road. It really should only be driven in a 4x4. There was no reference in your notes to the challenges that this road provided. Fortunately my husband and I are both excellent drivers. The situation for 30kms was quite precarious and dangerous at times.
The rest of the descriptions for each day were terrific overall.
I think this tour would have been much better but the company failed to tell us that everything would be closed as of September so there were a lot of things we couldn't do. I guess it's our fault as well. But when booking this I felt the tour company should also let you know that it's off season and not many things will be open. Perhaps a discounted rate. This was very frustrating. We also didn't get our welcome package until the last day when we checked out of our hotel in Reykjavik to head to the airport. Definitely over priced for what we got and the time of year. On a good note the glacier walk was a lot of fun and our guide was great.
Excellent! We didn't use the excursion due to weather at the time. Only criticism of Hertz is their vehicle return after normal hours - bit confusing. Otherwise all good.

Lodging was fine with the exception of Gistiheimilid Stong. Food there was good, but the rooms that are separate from the main building are poorly constructed and extremely noisy. We are very glad to have chosen the 2-week tour as we would have hated to have missed the Western Fjords area.
Excellent! I did not see any Iceland Tour members during my stay. I had the best trip of my life. Iceland Tours helped make my trip as seamless and as easy as possible. I've always wanted to visit Iceland to see the wonders of the country.
The Tour was very well organized and we could just follow the itinerary as given by the tours. It was an awesome experience visiting the wilderness of Iceland.
The hotels, package booking were all great too. Special thanks to Virginie and Arndís for organizing the package completely tailor made for us.
I highly recommend the tour.
I would rate this is a top holiday destination! If you are looking for a perfect tailor-made holiday to have an experience of a lifetime in the wilderness of Iceland, this Tour Company and team will make that dream come true!! Thank you so much for a great experience!

Good! There was a mishap with setting us up on the appropriate glacier tour for our accommodations. When this was discovered the tour team promptly answered my questions and was there to fix the issue if I was not able to do it with the glacier company. I appreciate the honesty and genuine concern.
This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed our trip to Iceland (GT01 Highlights of Iceland + Kulusuk day tour):
1. The duration, and itinerary, and the pace of the tour, were near-perfect. Our best feedback is not to change anything! But a few observations may help you for the future:
2. We received no joining instructions when we arrived on Saturday 19th July. No messages were left, nor a pre-tour briefing arranged. This can be worrying to tourists, when we are new to the country, and do not speak the language. In the end we had to telephone the emergency number to find out that the tour started outside the hotel on Sunday at 09:00.
Recommendation: at minimum leave a message at the hotel, to say when the tour starts; (other tours have a short informal meeting, maybe with a drink, the previous evening).
3. We appreciated very much having Oervar Mars as our guide. He is very cultured, he loves his country and knows it well. We loved the stories, and the singing interludes. He was very patient with all our different needs and interests, when our group was a mix of British, American and Chinese.
4. It was great to stay at different places, and see so many different things. The itinerary was very well thought out, and very well planned, I think. Recommendation: perhaps try to include a short "whale-watching" trip, while on the North coast?
5. The mix of organized group time and free time was perfect. It was nice to have a couple of meals together as a group in the evening, and also nice to be able to explore on our own.
6. Of course we loved the countryside, the waterfalls, the glaciers and the geysers, the folk museum, the boat trip on the glacial lagoon, seeing the puffins, but a very special moment was at Thorgeir's Church at Ljosavatn, looking at the Icelandic countryside through the picture window behind the altar, while Oervar sang for us an Icelandic hymn. A beautiful moment, which we will always remember.
7. When we returned to Reykjavik, we discover that the extra night was in a different hotel, which was inconvenient for us, to move, from Hotel Foss Baron to Hotel Bjork. Recommendation: for the extra night, it would be better to stay at the same hotel!
8. The trip to Greenland was a great experience (but expensive!). Recommendation: you could sell this more, as a perfect extra, for an already great tour.
In summary we thank you for a perfect holiday, about which we are already telling all our friends, and for being all such good ambassadors for your fascinating country,

Because Iceland is such a unique country, it was important for me to find a way to experience its spectacular beauty. I usually create /research my own itinerary when I travel. Also, thanks to Virginie for all her help through phone calls and emails. Someday I hope to go back. Loved the country and everyone we met. So friendly and helpful! The vouchers/itinerary was excellent - we were able to follow it without a problem. Driving was real easy! Hardly anyone on the road at most times - nothing like driving to work every day!!!
The website gave great information on the different package options. Had trouble with car rental, Hertz, While parked to hike to a waterfall, someone opened their door into our rental car door leaving a small mark, and then was gone before we arrived back. We were charged around $800 something American dollars. Way too much for such little damage. Some beautiful sights. Weather wasn't the best, with a lot of high fog and some rain. Overall, we very much enjoyed our time there. (Especially the puffins) :)
Dealing with Iceland Tours was easy and very satisfactory. From the questions before booking to questions just before our trip, all were answered promptly, thoroughly, and courtesy. Every email question I asked was answered thoroughly and timely. Really appreciated having this available.
Accommodation quality varied, but only one place was not excellent. I wish I could upload a picture of the bathroom where we had to get behind the toilet to enter the shower. Too funny. Food was excellent everyplace. Our guide was wonderful. Because the website gave us problems, we had some confusion via email but in the end everything worked out very well.

Very interesting landscape with lots of scenic points/places. The extra car insurance, which I consider necessary, should have been informed of prior booking....
It took too long time from we asked a question till we got an answer. We also think the info about accommodation was not good enough. We did not realize that what we ordered was rooms without facilities.
Minor suggestion is to provide better syntax to enter into the GPS to find locations... a lot (keyed as in the plan) found no match. Also, the daily 'drive mileage' ( ie 305 KM) assumes none of the suggested side trips... perhaps a 'from - to ' range like: 305 KM to 410 KM is better for planning.
Would recommend that you supply a single line map with the itinerary for each day showing location of accommodation and points of interest with km between. It was difficult to find locations on big map. Accommodation and evening meal at Narfastadir was the best, would not recommend Brunnholl. Blue Lagoon was wonderful would not suggest Lake Myvatn
Overall the trip was terrific we had a time of a lifetime and we have recommended to others
Your website was informative, but what sold us on using your services compared to some other company was the excellent communication with your staff. They were very on top with communicating with us and helping us through some of the difficulties we had (which ended up being on our side, not because of the website). We had the most excellent vacation. Everything worked. From the very first voucher to the last, there were never any problems. A number of times, our GPS didn't recognize addresses for hotels that we entered, but the directions on the itinerary were so good that we always found the hotels right away. It was such a memorable vacation that no doubt we will be contacting you again for another vacation. Your ability to put together a seamless itinerary along with the detailed description is unparalleled. Thank you very much for the vacation of a lifetime
The only downside of the trip was a problem with the rental car: We did not cause any damage to the car but in the end Hertz made us pay for a small piece of plastic underneath the front bumper.
We planned our trip to Iceland for a very long time and in the end it exceeded our expectations by far! We will definitely come back and given the great experience this time we will chose Iceland Tours again. Thank you for this incredible tour!
I enjoyed the hotel accommodations. The distances travels worked out well. The car rental went smoothly on both ends. The GPS outside of Reykjavik was pretty suspect. But then there was only one main road so it was pretty hard to get lost.
Very thorough. Easy to navigate. Easy to contact employees. Accurate descriptions and photos. No hidden cost surprises. Thank you to Greta. She was excellent at returning emails in a timely manner. It was also nice to be able to reach easily via telephone.
Iceland Tours provides quality service and we'll rounded self-drive tours. Originally I was concerned that we would be a bit rushed to get between the various overnight points. I found the days turned out to be planned out just right. They are very helpful with planning your Icelandic experience. There are no hidden costs.
The hotel accommodations were as promised. There was one hotel who could not find our reservation but that was quickly fixed as soon as they knew
It was an extraordinary country where we saw so much in terms of natural phenomena. The organization by Iceland tours meant we had no worries or stresses that can occur in a touring holiday. The places booked were a good distance for driving and also near the things we wanted to see. All the places we stayed in were high quality- we particularly enjoyed watching Cow TV near Hofn.
Thanks to the whole team. That was an amazing trip we will never forget. Organization was perfect - easy and uncomplicated at the hotels. A special thanks to the team from Adventure Rentals, who gave us a warm welcome to Iceland and some coffee when we picked up the car. It drove us safely across the island. The free whale watching tour was also incredible - a group of dolphins and 3 mink whales... We'd love to come back one day.
The only comment is that the vouchers could have been provided sooner than 5 days pre-departure. We realize that bookings take a few days but 2 weeks to book hotels is a bit too long! Sidd Canada Reviewed, August 2014
We enjoyed the trip immensely. The weather was reasonable. We even had 3 sunny days.
The only error was that our vouchers had us staying in Hotel Laki near Kirkjubæjarklaustur on July 28th and Hótel Dyrhólaey near Vik on the 29th. While our itinerary had the opposite. This was not a big problem, and it all worked out fine. Clay Reviewed, August 2014
Accommodation standard was variable, guest houses generally better than hotels. e.g. tea/coffee facilities available, more space. Cars hire OK but damaged a tire and only one source in Reykjavik for replacement - not a lot of use on the east coast. Hertz charge for tire replacement exorbitant! (Over 500Kr compared to under 300Kr direct from dealer) Hertz need to fit tires that are more easily available around the country. Final itinerary and hotel details only provided 1 week before departure. Not sure of the benefit of the ferry crossing, would have preferred the sightseeing on the drive around the coast and journey time would have been similar. These are intended as constructive comments, overall very happy with the whole experience. Nigel England Reviewed, July 2014
After booking the Ring Road 6 day trip and paying in full, did not understand why I had to contact you yet again before you sent me my full itinerary and vouchers. This should have been automatic that I got everything pertaining to the trip. Comfort level accommodations were pretty average to basic at times. However, that aside we had a truly wonderful travel experience in Iceland and loved our visit to your country Gregory USA Reviewed, July 2014
Accommodations right in line with what we expected. The help we got at Snorri Guest house, hotel Edda and on Westmann Island for planning our days was fantastic. I think another car rental option is need. ie high clearance vehicle to cross rivers on the back roads.
Iceland is a great country of scenic beauty. Icelandic people are warm and friendly. This makes it easy it is a great place to go. Sustainable tourism will a big thing for the future which i think Icelanders know from my conversations.

I kept adding to our tour (which made things more complicated), so there were several agents who assisted me. Sometimes the messages weren't shared between them. E-mail was invaluable to help clear things up We had an amazing time. We really enjoyed our Inside the Volcano Tour. The Highlights of Iceland Tour was fabulous. We couldn't believe that each day was as fabulous as the one before. Our guide Gudrun Ingibjorg was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and added interesting facts, stories and poetry. Her driving was excellent and we were very happy we didn't have to deal with driving on the rougher, narrower roads. She also did an amazing job of keeping 13 people together and on time.
Iceland Tours was very accommodating when we want to add a day to our car rental and hotel stay when we signed up for the Pearls of the South. Everything went exactly as planned with no glitches whatsoever. And Iceland was awe-inspiring!!! The Hotel Klettur in Iceland was not as nice as we would have hoped. The hotel is undergoing major renovation, so we were staying in a construction zone. Room was sufficient but bathroom was tiny with no space to maneuver about. Front desk morning person was very grouchy, never even a hello. Just ignored us for minutes and then granted an audience with a nod. Not too friendly for someone in the hospitality business. It is hard to believe that it has already been more than two weeks since we returned from our Iceland adventure but I want to let you know how much we enjoyed it. All of the arrangements you made worked perfectly, even to the transportation to our Reykjavik hotel from the airport on June 11 when our flight arrived three hours late from Copenhagen. We are very grateful to you for arranging such a wonderful trip. As I have told everyone here in California, Iceland is indeed a geological wonderland. Your country is interesting, beautiful, very welcoming and visitor-friendly and has the best fresh seafood imaginable.
Thanks again for all you did to make our Iceland holiday such a wonderful experience.
Beautiful scenery aside, everything was perfectly put together before I got there, and I didn't have to worry about a thing logistically once I began my trip - stellar arrangements.
I have just a few minor thoughts about the package (Classic Iceland). 1. The accommodations outside Hofn and Myvatn were a little shoddy (the rooms mostly). Personally, I would have preferred staying in Hofn itself rather than 25 km. outside it - just a thought. 2. Advice on what insurance to get with the car rental would have been helpful (windshield insurance is a MUST for this trip in my opinion), and I think your advice on this - based on all the other important comments you've included - would be most helpful to future vacationers.
Other than that - amazing package. I'm recommending it to anyone I know...
I am happy to have booked my tour with Iceland tours but an area that you could improve is the replying to emails. Some of my emails were not replied and some replies were delayed (2-3 days). I had to follow-up on the phone most of the time. I understand the operators are quite busy but a reply like "Thanks for your email, we will get back to you in 2-3 days" would give the customer an idea that someone has seen my email and will surely get back to me. All accommodations were good except the one at Solheimalaga (near Vik) . Here the rooms were small and no space to put our luggage. The rooms looked cheap built. The toilets were small and there was no soap or soap-stand in the shower. We are quite happy for the arrangements you had made. The customer service was excellent. Special thanks to Greta. :-)
The only interaction was by email when we booked the trip. There was no local service/interaction. The Garmin GPS from Hertz failed to recognize a lot of places, even the airport. This was not due to Icelandic characters. The beds in the hotel in Egilsgadir were too soft and the dinner in the hotel was a scam. We had to pay 15000 IKR for the buffet and a drink without being told. The Edda hotels were like sleep factories, no character at all. Skogar was the worst of the two. The order of the car route was sometimes the other way round the trip is very diverse and shows a lot of different aspects of the country. We found the scenery absolutely stunning and enjoyed the views and nature and welcoming locals. However, we underestimated the time it costs to drive. We spent a lot of time in the car driving. You should set expectations clearer. There was not enough time to do hikes or extra activities. We are young so it is okay but for 50plus people it is very tiring to drive so much.
Overall instructions good but we did get confused once or twice, GPS good to have, we didn't always pace ourselves too well and had some very long days, so a guideline of how long to spend would be good. Great having 2 drivers so you take it in turns to look at the scenery, awesome amazing, everything we hoped it would be. Would recommend your company to others. It was hard to keep our eyes on the road as the scenery in Iceland is beautiful. Every turn in the road opened up a new vista, snowcapped mountains, glaciers and plenty of cute Icelandic horses. A great country to explore. Hilary Australia Reviewed, July 2014
Just wanted to send a quick note to say we have arrived back in the US and to thank you for a wonderful trip. The hotels were all great and the car rental worked out very well. The Jimmy was very dependable and ran great. We basically planned our activities (mostly nature related) around the hotel locations and it all worked out super. We saw so much in our 10 days and took many, many photos. We had some great long, beautiful hikes in Skaftafell NP and Landmannalaugar too. Wow, how I love Landmannalaugar. Unforgettable memories. Thanks again for your part in making this all happen!
I want to thank you for the excellent itinerary and all that you did to make our trip work out well. We were very pleased with your service and the ease of carrying out our plans. We will recommend you to our friends. In reviewing my information at the end of the trip, it seems we were charged for two phones and we only received one. Would you please refund the cost of the other mobile phone that we never received. Thank you.
Wow! Thank you, thank you, and thank you. Our visit to Iceland was fabulous. Each and every of the Guesthouses was unique and charming. What can I say about the land itself?... Majestic sweeping vistas, beautiful countryside, snow/rivers/waterfalls around every corner. The itinerary was just right. We were unable to head up to the peninsula from Dettifoss due to snow but we made a change and had wonderful drive. We even detoured into the Westfjords on Road 60...I know the locals will love the new bridges and the end of construction! I will cherish my memories of the land and the wonderful people...Meg
The trip was disastrous as we were hit by heavy snow storm and rain throughout the entire trip, which meant we didn't get to see the scenery or the northern lights. However, the tour arrangement by Iceland Tours was flawless!
I heard it said that a good pilot is not how well he/she flies a plane, but how they react to unexpected changes. If applied to Sales Agents, I would say Anna is excellent! First of all, we took the 8D/7N package but we extended it by 3 more days, and Anna consulted us on the locations which we would like to extend and made the necessary hotel bookings.
Then, the unexpected happened. My business trip that was just prior to this vacation was delayed and I had to make last minute changes 2 days before arriving in Iceland! It was a Friday and I was worried that the changes could not be made in time. Fortunately, Anna managed to settle everything within a day and sent out the e-vouchers by Friday evening!
From the moment we touched down, we did not have any issues at all with the hotels and transport arrangements. It was flawless!
Then came the snow storm which seemed to be getting worse with each passing day. Finally we managed to arrive back to Reykjavik in the midst of heavy wind and rain. After checking into the hotel, I received a call from Anna on my mobile checking to see if I have arrived safely back in Reykjavik. Amidst the depressing cold weather, her caring gesture warmed our hearts and we were very grateful.
I am very happy to have had Anna as the Agent managing this trip for us, and would not hesitate to recommend her to any of my friends and relatives who would like to visit Iceland in the future!
We received a phone call at the hotel notifying us of bad weather and Anna made arrangements to alter accommodations accordingly. Anna was extremely helpful throughout the day and we truly appreciate the care she took to keep track of us.
The excursions were let down by the weather which is obviously no one’s fault. The guide and the timings of the tours were good.
We were very pleased with all aspects of our trip to Iceland except the weather, which did spoil the enjoyment of some of the trips. As far as the service and organization of the trip went we were very impressed. Iceland Tours chose a hotel for us with an excellent location and we felt we got good value for money. Any queries we had were answered swiftly by email. Our trip to the Northern Lights was cancelled due to the weather conditions so we were given a full refund. Iceland is a very interesting country and I would strongly recommend people to visit.
Had a brilliant time, Iceland is awesome in the winter time. And everything was organized for us which were less stressful. The accommodation was excellent with very friendly people making us welcome in some fantastic places. Thanks a lot.
Due to a storm, I was forced to stay in Reykjavik instead of traveling through the south for a few days. I really appreciate the communication from the team, and that they were looking out for my welfare. They did not have to do that and could have let me strike out on my own in that weather without knowing anything about the driving conditions around the country.
I enjoyed my time in Iceland so much that I already want to go back and see the rest of the country.
Anna replied quickly to all of my questions. I was very pleased. I am impressed with the organization of your company. I am thoroughly satisfied with my experience in Iceland... I have already recommended it to friends.
Quick answers to all questions, excellent advice, perfect itinerary for us. We had a great trip with all the details worked out for us but with no loss of freedom to do what we wanted to do. Somehow Iceland Tours knew exactly how we like to travel and explore!
Staff were very helpful with organizing our trip before we arrived; we extended one of the tours and this was carried out with great efficiency. All of the information provided was very useful, particularly about what to see and where to go etc.
The whole trip was excellent - there were no problems at all with car rental, accommodation etc.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank your staff and organization for a wonderful holiday. We would certainly use you again as we plan to return for another trip in the future.
The trip to Hekla and Landmannalaugur was awesome; Stefan our guide surprised and delighted us by taking us to see additional wonders along the way, and the whole day was a dream come true. Thank you so much!
We came back to the U.S. yesterday, without any problem. We went to Lækjarbrekka on our last day in Iceland, and it is great. I just wanted to thank you again for arranging just a wonderful trip for us. As I have told many of the colleagues, the "undisturbed beauties" of Iceland are very impressive and unique. Thanks again.
Booking with Iceland tours made everything extremely easy. the maps and itinerary provided helped us very much along the way. Thanks for everything!! Because of you, my wife and i had the best vacation we've ever had.
We came back from our 7-day tour of the South and West of Iceland last Tuesday. Our family had a wonderful time and we would like to thank you very much for your suggestions and careful instructions to guide our visit. We saw so many beautiful things and everyone was very friendly. We followed your instructions to the letter. The timing was perfect, giving us the right time at each location and to get from point A to B. We saw waterfalls, climbed colorful mountains, walked on glaciers, visited hydrothermal systems, caught a glimpse of whales, checked up volcanoes, and learned loads.
The weather was rainy on the first day and a half, but progressively improved thereafter. We had sun on several of the nicest stops. So thanks for that too.
A very nice holiday. And I hope we will be able to visit again.
We would like to thank you very much for your help, and for the flexibility adapting the tour to the days we had.
All the best,
Jorge Vago Caterina Falcomer Eugenio, Nicolò, and Venkata Vago
We had the most amazing trip, thank you so much for all your patience, advice and assistance. Iceland was beyond amazing and we can't wait to go back. The route that we took around the island really allowed us to see a huge variety of sights and everywhere we stayed was very nice. Iceland is truly spectacular, like a place from out of this world and we both agree that it will be very hard to beat.
I want to thank you a thousand times for all your help, our trip was very well organized and went very smoothly and we owe that to you. We can't wait until the next one! On that note, the next one might be a little different as we are expecting a baby in February! A new challenge for your amazing trip planning ;)
The Iceland tours operator was very helpful when I called as I couldn't find exactly what I wanted on the website. It was no problem to accommodate all my requests and the operator was friendly and helpful. I was given plenty of information and guidance before the trip.
When we arrived, everything had been taken care of. All accommodation and everything else that had been booked for us fulfilled our expectations. Although we had requested budget lodgings, the places we stayed were clean, comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Iceland tours had ensured that breakfast was always included, even in places where a night's accommodation does not automatically include it.
Everything had been thought of, so when we decided to follow the advice of the car hire associate and take the additional windscreen protection, we found out it had already been included by Iceland tours.
We had an excellent trip, guided but not limited by a great itinerary with lots of information to keep us busy.
Accommodation was generally good with the Northern Light Inn being the best and Hotel Egilsstadir being the worst. The latter had a minuscule bedroom with two beds shoehorned into a single bedroom, electrics in the wrong place, barely any space to walk in, and appalling fire escape provision with no in-room instructions. Would suggest you don't use this place until it improves. I found Iceland Tours, very helpful at all stages, and the arrangements ran faultlessly at all stages. The information received was most helpful, and without hesitation would use again. (Which I hope to)
Our visit exceeded our expectation, which were already high, and Iceland Tours also saved some good weather for us too. She did however fail to organize the whales to line up for us!
We enjoyed the trip immensely. The hotels were, in general well placed and bathrooms were excellent. The beds were a bit Spartan but adequate. The suggestions for side trips were useful. We had a great time.
The whole package was excellent, but of course I still have to do my homework so I can have a detailed knowledge of the places was visiting which is fine with me. The Fosshotel staff was excellent also. In fact on our last night in Reykjavik, they upgraded our room to a two bedroom apartment. Please extend our gratitude to the management.
You did a fantastic job planning this itinerary. The self-drive tour had just enough to do each day...not too much, nor too little. You ensured we say all the critical sites to see. It seemed each day could not top the other, but it did. I did not realize you had such fantastic scenery in Iceland...almost like witnessing how the earth was forming a few million years ago! You also had good accommodations pre-arranged. I also enjoyed the SUV (which I suggest is a must and non-optional) as some of the roads (like 864 to Dettifoss) would have been very difficult with a small vehicle...the four wheel drive is a must have on dirt roads.
Thanks for the adventure of a lifetime! This was by far THE BEST DRIVE TOUR EVER!
This was one of my most enjoyable vacations I have ever had and I wish to thank you.
My only complaint had to do with the old dingy house I stayed at in Borgarnes. When I arrived at the guest house, I was sent to an old house in the middle of a field. It was musty smelling and dingy. I considered staying at another hotel even though this was paid for, but it was getting late. It was very disappointing.
All other accommodations ranged from good to excellent.
The sightseeing route you sent us on was great. We really had a wonderful time
The tour plan provided by Iceland tours was wonderful. The natural beauty of Iceland is hard to describe and do it justice. The beautiful waterfalls, the glaciers, a glacial lake filled with icebergs. I camera could not do them justice. Akureyri is a wonderful town with great outdoor cafes. Reykjavík center is amazing. All the little shops and cafes. I had a wonderful time
All the trips were great except for the Whale Watching (no whales showed up) and you can barely see the puffins. We did get a voucher for another trip, but were leaving the next day, so it was no use to us.
We have just returned from our 7 day driving tour of Iceland that you arranged for us. Thank you. We had the most wonderful time. We have memories for a lifetime. Your arrangements were perfect! Iceland is a remarkable country - breathtaking landscape, rich history, charming and gracious people, the hotels was excellent, the breakfasts were feasts, the whole place is so civilized and sophisticated. Fabulous.
As this is my last day here, I just want to thank you so very much for organizing this trip for me. I have had the most amazing and wonderful experience here. It’s truly been magical. I cannot thank you enough for all you have done. As I leave this afternoon, I will take with me memories that will stay in my heart forever.
Hi Anna. I just wanted to send you a note thanking you for a great vacation. All of the connections were perfect, the hotels were all very nice and better than we expected. The weather was great and the country fantastic. Sorry we missed you at your office, hope you had a great vacation, Thanks again. Henry & Penny
Just to let you know that we are safely back home and that our time in Iceland exceeded our expectations which were already high.
Your organization and advice were very good and everything went well and to plan except our flight home which was delayed by 2 hours and that had nothing to do with you.
The hotels were good with one exception, and the Northern Light Inn was really top class, pity we had an early start for a late plane! If sometime you want any more detailed feedback will be happy to supply and I have pictures of most places.
As we were spending time in the airport waiting for the plane talked to another couple who had booked through the firm in Derbyshire and they had experienced quite a number or organizational problems. Told them about your services and you may hear from them next time they visit Iceland. This was also echoed by one of the hoteliers. We enjoyed the sail into Reykjavik Bay but the whales were busy feeding and not interested in seeing us. Husavik, we were told had a lot more activity.
So now I have 2000 plus pictures to edit to reinforce the super memories, and to show a selected number to our friends. Some have already expressed an interest in following in our wheel tracks.
Finally, I asked you to save some good weather for us. This you did with virtually no rain at all just the occasional shower or two, and some days with wall to wall sunshine. Thank you very much.
In average the booked accommodation was great. The only hotel which did not reach the booked standard was the hotel in Egilstadir. The room did not even have a table and chair, only a bed and the breakfast room was kind of dirty.
Apart from that, the accommodation was great, especially Hotel Framnes in Gundarfjördur and Volcano Hotel in Vik. The service of the staff was excellent, the rooms were good and the food was great.
Also the help of the employees of Iceland Tours was fantastic and outstanding :-).
The girls in the office were extremely helpful and discreet since the holiday was a surprise birthday present for my wife.
The sun shone 6.5 days out of 7. The itinerary pointing out interesting landmarks was excellent. The geology was fascinating but the highlight if we had to choose would be the Lake Myvatn area. We visited two dairy farms but what impressed us most was that everyone we met spoke excellent English.
All aspects of the trip were excellent! The hotels were very nice, clean, and comfortable; food was good; excursions well explained. Being able to customize the package made it just what we wanted. It was great to have a GPS; it made getting around very easy. We probably did not need the cell phone. The driving map was not very detailed and sometimes inaccurate.
Iceland is a beautiful country. The Iceland Tours self-drive packages are a perfect way to see the highlights. I swish we had stayed longer, and hope to return some day.
Arrangements were organized and well done. Thank you for answering my questions before the trip. We had a wonderful time. You have a beautiful country full of friendly and helpful people. We'd like to return.
We are home week now and life is back to normal. We wanted to say to you how wonderful our trip was and that all who were on it are still talking about it.
This very much thanks to you. We saw so much in a short time. Anna Dis was an excellent guide, very helpful and responsive to the needs of the group, and we were fortunate that Grettor decided to join us at the last moment because his geology expertise was very informative. And they added a couple stops that were highlights. The bus and driver were also excellent. We were glad to meet you even if briefly.
So thank you again for your role in making our trip such memorable success. We will recommend you if given an opportunity.
It was a real pleasure to travel with Iceland tours! Every and each question prior the trip was answered within one day max. We did not make any excursion due to lacking time as we followed our main interest during the tour which was photography; so this question above has no rating.
The choice of the hotels was excellent - good. Especially the Volcano Hotel, Vik, Ketilaastadaskoli, was really excellent!!!
All personnel we met in all hotels were very nice, helpful, and hospital to us; that was impressive and appreciated! Excellent
For the wonderful and impressive landscape, the excellent weather as well, the nice and hospital people we met ... nobody can "blame" Iceland tours-;)! It’s really a great country and we saw, how our planet developed. This definitely was not our last trip to Iceland!!!
All the rest was excellent prepared and organized! Even our special wish for a manual rental car was given to Hertz - and it worked.
Thank you so much for the wonderful arrangements you made for our Other Minds tour of Iceland. We're so grateful to you for the many small things you did throughout our collaboration to make this an enjoyable experience for our group.
Thanks for going beyond the call of duty to make this trip special for all of us.
My trip was special and was put together in a hurry. I really appreciate the effort. There was a mix-up with my accommodation at Vik. However, the landlord found maybe even better accommodations nearby.
Hello Carolina, Margrete and all at Iceland Tours,
We just returned from Iceland last night. I wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous time in Iceland. The hotels you selected for us were always good. Some, like the hotel Kea in Akureyri, were very luxurious, others like the farm hotel in Skogar were more simple but very comfortable we enjoyed the variety. Every hotel was expecting us and the rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable and the included breakfasts were always good.
We loosely followed your itinerary, and added things like snorkeling at Silfra and white water rafting on the West River in Northern Iceland. We hiked to 9 waterfalls and saw several museums. Our favorite was the one in Borganes. We started early each morning and we were generally just getting to the hotels at 8:00 PM., but we did fit everything in!
The food in Iceland was very good. Everything was exceptionally fresh and there was plenty on the menu for us all to enjoy.
Yes, Iceland is expensive, but no more so than a big city like New York or London. Most of all we enjoyed the Icelandic people and the large areas where there was nothing but peace and quiet and fantastic scenery.
We thought your 10 day self-drive tour was good value for money and I would recommend Iceland and your service to everyone. Particularly the part where we left our lap top in a hotel and it was shipped by air to our hotel in Reykjavik. We did not even know we had left it until the next hotel told us the plan!
Thank you for everything. Please let me know about the shipping costs for the lap top.
The Volcano hotel was the coolest, but all hotels were nice. The only one that had an unusual odor in the bathroom was the one at the Hotel Egilsstadir. We also loved staying at the Hotel Latrabjarg, very nice room and the bathroom we shared was just right outside our room. We love Iceland!
Excellent place to visit. The places were very nice and the people very helpful. Two weeks was great for driving around the country.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Central Hotel Plaza, Hotel Alden, and hotels in western Iceland were excellent. The hotel in Myvatn was poor - the furniture was warn / old, the windows in the rooms did not open (stuck shut), and the bathroom was full of mold. You should consider another hotel in Myvatn for your guests.

Thank you for Margret's patience and fast action when needed. Some hotels were amazing, others not so good (one student dorm was very smelly, the second one was excellent...) Re excursions, we followed your suggestions and some others in books.
I recommend to everyone to visit Iceland during the summer. It exceeded my expectations by far - the real bonus: the light at midnight!!!

I have to say that I am very impressed with your company because my entire trip ran perfectly smoothly - starting from when your agent picked me up at the airport and delivered me to my hotel. All the staff at each place I stayed could not have been nicer or more helpful.
I have always wanted to see Iceland and your self-guided 8 day driving tour was the perfect way for me to see and experience the country. I could not have been happier with my entire experience with Iceland Tours. Every aspect of this trip ran so smoothly starting with your agent picking me up at the airport and delivering me to my hotel. The car rental also could not have been easier and I was very satisfied with the car. All of the hotels where I stayed were clean and neat and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. I only wish I had chosen the 10 day trip so I could have seen more of your beautiful country.

It was one of the best trips I have ever taken. The lodgings were pleasant and the innkeeper (Magnus)was very helpful providing information; it was a good location because I could spend time sightseeing and enjoying Reykjavik. The South Shore excursion was particularly striking, but all of them were well guided and a good balance of information on the people of Iceland and the interesting geological phenomena of the land. All scheduled excursion worked as advertised and arrived punctually. I just sit and drink from my Iceland mug and plot a comeback.
We had a brilliant 11 days travelling round the island. It was an amazing experience, something different around every turn. Accommodation booked for us was excellent and varied. It was nice to be able to stay on the smaller farm style hotels which we enjoyed and all top class.
I was dealing mostly with Margret E. She is the most helpful and knowledgeable agent i ever meet. I only will deal with her on my next trip to Iceland
Iceland Tours is everything they promise and much more. Will book with them again. Margret is the best Agent i ever had, very helpful and pleasant to deal with. As i mentioned before, i hope she still with you next time i travel to Iceland

Iceland is so very beautiful! We loved everything about it. This tour is so wonderful!!
The hotels were really great. All of the food we had in Iceland was so delicious. The food at the hotels was excellent too!!
I cannot believe that it's already a week ago that we left your beautiful country. We had a fantastic time and felt sorry we did not plan for a longer trip. You did a great job arranging everything, our compliments.
We would like to thank you for arranging such a good holiday for us. We had a quite superb time and hugely enjoyed every aspect of Iceland. We particularly liked the north west and also made sure to go to both the historical bishopric villages which were well worthwhile.

We are home safe and I just wanted to say thank you for all the help during the vacation. We had a great time in Iceland and your firm gets 5 stars for helping us out.
I figured I'd give you some reviews of the hotels we stayed at as your firm probably evaluates your partnerships regularly.
Foss hotels - 4 nights - They were all pretty similar and fine. Tended to be a little off the beaten track so you had to drive etc. I'd recommend asking if anyone cares if they are somewhere where they cant walk to anywhere to eat (Hofn, Laugar). But clean and simple. Quality of the bed varied greatly (the one in Lauger was terrible).
Volcano hotel - nice and interesting format. So new you could still smell the paint. Same issue as FossHotel regarding in/out of town Hérad - Very nice. A welcome break into someplace really nice from all the more rustic spots. I'd recommend trying to do that for anyone taking this tour as the respite at someplace more upscale - midway through the trip - was really nice.
A few words to tell you that we really enjoyed our trip and we thank you very much for your assistance all the way.
The scenery and landscape are spectacular and people are generally friendly. We are hoping to go back one of these days.
I will give you a bit of feedback:
If I had to do it again, I would pick up the car at the airport on arrival. I lost too much time from the hotel to pick up the car and back. We could not plan anything for that part of the day.
Grand Hotel Reykjavik - excellent all the way - first class hotel - something unusual and very appreciated: our hotel room was ready as soon as we came in at 9:00 a.m. We could have a good rest.
Katla - Volcano Hotel - Very charming - like a bed and breakfast - very warm welcome - it is clean - would recommend it to friends for sure
Hotel Hofn - Reception staff not the friendliest, but ok - Feels like a convent - but food was excellent in the restaurant
Hotel Egilsstadir - The worst of the trip - Constant awful smell from the bathroom, room cramped (after that we really appreciated the quality of the other hotels)
Hotel Gigur - excellent all the way - we loved the place and would stay there again longer - not only for the hotel, but mainly for all the things to see and experience there.
Hotel Akureyri - high quality place - everything is modern and comfortable, staff very friendly and professional - students who stay there during the year are well looked after.
Fosshotel Reykholt - excellent - rooms are not new, but comfortable, staff is friendly, restaurant excellent, lots of neat attractions in the area
Framnes Hotel - it has a special "cachet", that ocean feeling, room not 4 stars but clean and perfect for our needs, view on water, food excellent, they even had Canadian maple syrup on their pancakes!!!
We visited most of the suggested sites, but too fast. We had 3 days of rain, the rest sunshine. The longer sunny days were very appreciated. We could plan outdoor activities late in the evening. There is plenty to see for another trip.
We got back from our fantastic trip to Iceland on Wednesday and I just wanted to send you a note to thank you for your help and advice arranging the trip.
Everything worked fine, all the arrangements were in place and we saw everything we wanted to (and more) - and the weather improved along the South Coast so we didn't need the extra night in Hella after all.
Even the bridge at Vik was replaced by the time we got there!
We will definitely recommend Iceland Tours to friends.
Carolina Castillo was exceptional in helping me with preplanning the trip. She is GREAT! I really appreciated it.
Loved the trip!

We were fully satisfied with all aspects of our experience. It was wonderful to be able to pick up the phone and to talk immediately with a real person as we were planning our trip. And those "read persons" -- Aldis and Margaret -- were helpful, informed, attentive, prompt . . . in short, fully professional and responsive. And everything we contracted for was as represented.
We were fully satisfied and felt we got good value for our money. I would have no hesitation whatsoever
We really enjoyed our trip and Iceland is an exciting country which we will return to soon. Our only disappointment was the accommodation as some of the rooms and bathrooms were very small. However, they were always clean and the service was good as well as the food. As my husband commented it was better than sleeping in a tent! Thank you for making our first trip to Iceland a memorable one.

I want to thank you warmly for the courtesy, friendliness and personal touch of your e-mails. I sent 5 or 6 e-mails out to different travel agents, and I could immediately tell (based on the responses) that I would want to work with you.
We all had a great trip, and Iceland was stunning and exciting. Lulli was a very kind, well informed and energetic guide who tried very hard to enthuse about the things we would see. It worked and we appreciated his efforts and his creative approach to the tour. I will be back for more off-roading! Thanks of course to you for all the planning as well. All the hotels were very nice and we loved the final hut night.
The excursions were excellent except for the northern lights tour which was spoiled by the very irritating style of the guide. The golden circle tour was really extremely good - including the guide. Pickups and organization was all excellent
